The United States Postal Service proposed temporarily raising its prices ahead of the holiday season as a way to handle the peak season. According to a release, rates or priority mail, first-class services and ground shipping would increase by as little as 25 cents in some cases, and as much as $6.50 in others. While this temporary increase is pending approval by the Postal Regulatory Commission, it would be in effect from October 2nd through January 23rd.
