Ordering presents online this time of the year could give you anxiety because you just have to keep your fingers crossed that it arrives on time. Well to make sure that your gifts make it under the tree in time, here's a full list of all of the shipping deadlines you need to know.
Shipping deadlines for Christmas packages through a mail carrier
USPS:
If you are shipping through the good old postal service, you might need to get a move on. Regular USPS Retail Ground shipping has aholiday cutoff dateofDec. 15, with other options staggered through the month ranging throughDec. 23for Priority Mail Express Service.
UPS:
To ship via UPS, it is advised to make an account and map out the best time to mail, as well as make sure your local shipping store is open. Head to theirHoliday Shipping infopage on the site for more details, but for 2021, it looks likeDec. 21is the cutoff for their 3-Day Select service when shipping in the United States.
FedEx:
FedEx has made it easier than ever to plan out your presents in time for the holidays. They now have aPDF spreadsheetwith the 2021 cutoff deadlines, with the last day for most FedEx Ground services beingDec. 15. For FedEx Express, you can buy yourself some more time, with deadlines startingDec. 21and endingDec. 24for same-day delivery.
Shipping deadlines for Christmas gifts ordered online
Amazon:
This is the perfect time of the year to dust off your Prime membership and put it to good use. Technically, you can then shop right up untilDec. 24with same-day delivery using Amazon Prime. For the rest of us, it is advised to shop no later thanDec. 23with one-day shipping or even earlier if you opt for standard shipping.
lululemon:
If you were inspired by our list of thebest lululemon gifts, be sure to order no later than Dec. 19 to ensure a delivery date on or beforeDec. 24.
Walmart:
For the best deals on toys, clothes, technology and more, Walmart is truly the North Pole of shopping. To ensure a delivery date of Dec. 25, Walmart suggests shopping byDec. 20with their standard ground shipping. Otherwise, you may have to pay extra for expedited delivery.
Spanx:
While Spanx has yet to announce the official deadline for a Christmas delivery, we can safely assume that ordering early is the way to go. They are currently offering free shipping on their site, and also havethis handy guideto their shipping policy, should you choose the free standard option or the faster expedited or overnight options.
Nordstrom:
The shipping elves at Nordstrom have spoken and they suggest ordering by Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. EST to make for a Christmas delivery. Head to the site now to shop for the best gifts before it’s too late.
Saks Fifth Avenue:
Your friends and family are in for a treat if you are shopping at Saks for their gifts. Make sure to finish up and check out by Dec. 16 by 1 p.m. EST however, if you want to ensure a Dec. 24 delivery date with a few hours to spare for wrapping.
Therabody:
Therabody is here to soothe body and mind, sharing their recommendations for safe and speedy delivery. Check outthis pagefor the details, but note that standard delivery in the US is recommended byDec. 15, but is subject to change. Coach Outlet:
If you plan to send Coach to your nice list this year, make sure it gets there on time for the holidays. Coach Outlet has an ordering deadline ofDec. 15in order to ensure a Dec. 25 delivery, so act fast. To further incentivize your shopping, they are offering up to 70% off plus many more deals as the days leading up to the holidays tick by.
Macy’s:
Macy’s is the star of holiday shopping and they would never want you to be late. That’s why they say to order your gifts by Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. EST at the latest with standard shipping, or you can choose to shop online and pick up in-store by Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. EST.
Uncommon Goods:
The presents are uncommon and unique, but there’s nothing too crazy about shipping deadlines and delays. In order to avoid those, Uncommon Goods suggests ordering as early as possible, and no later thanDec. 15with economy shipping,Dec. 20with standard shipping orDec. 21with expedited shipping.
Our Place:
While the viral Always Pan is always hard to get your hands on, if you do want to order one for the holidays, take a look at theFAQ pagefor more information. As of now, the site advises to budget for three to five business days for in-stock items to process and then be sent out to ship. They do offer a few options to make that time shorter, seen at checkout.
Target:
You don’t have to worry about hitting the shipping bullseye at Target, as many of their items qualify fortwo-day shipping. Head to their shipping page for more info, but so long as your order is worth $35 or more or you sign up for aRedCard, it should be all set come Christmas.
Best Buy:
Best Buy really is one of the best places to shop last-minute, as they offer a few great options for delivery and pickup. Many items qualify for same-day delivery if ordered by 5 p.m. at the latest, and they also offerfree next-day deliveryon thousands of other items, should you want to wait a tad longer.
J. Crew
We love J. Crew and not only for theirsalesthat seem to never end. This year, shop byDec. 19to ensure holiday delivery for him, her, the kids and everyone else on your list.
Madewell
Madewell has the same countdown on their site as J. Crew, ticking down until the cutoff for holiday shopping. If you want your sweaters and hats by Dec. 25, order byDec. 19to guarantee there will be some gifts to give come Christmas Day.
