Dr. Oz Talks About The Early Signs Of Alzheimer’s That He Missed!

Dr. Oz often talks about Alzheimer's disease on his show, but with his mother recently getting diagnosed with Alzheimer's he wanted to inform his audience the early signs that he missed. Both him and his sisters would overlook the signs and just blame it on her getting older or just keep it to themselves. Here are some of the early warning signs:

  • Challenges in planning
  • Difficulty completing tasks
  • Confusing time and place
  • Problems with words
  • Trouble understanding visuals
  • Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps.

Dr. Oz has the APOE4 Alzheimer's gene, which puts him at a higher risk of Alzheimer's. When he went to a doctor friend who's the director of Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic, he was introduced to the ABC testing model. According to Dr. Oz,

"The A test stands for anthropometrics and involved testing for body fat and composition. The B test, which stands for blood biomarkers. The C test, which measured cognitive function."

Dr. Oz advises everyone to get their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checked out to make sure those are under control. If it's under control then you can actually lower your risk for Alzheimer's disease.
