It's been a few days since the Game of Thrones series finale and we still haven't fully recovered from what happened!
Well before the series ended, HBO announced that there would be a GOT prequel.
We figured it would be airing maybe at the beginning of 2020 to fully take in everything, but it looks like it won't be airing until 2021.
President of HBO programming, Casey Bloys said "having a prequel air a year later feels too rushed and the casting was completed a few weeks ago."
He said he doesn't want to over do it and he wants to be very careful with how they go about creating the prequel.
The Game of Thrones prequel will be about the mysteries of the East and the Starks of legend and will take a closer look into the origins of the White Walkers.
The pilot will officially begin filming next month in June.
