On voting... have you made your plan?

90 minutes.

That's how long it took me to vote early on Monday afternoon. It wasn't as long as I thought it was going to be, but it did make me think of you... because I know you are going to vote... and I wanted to make sure you had a plan.

This is going to be an election unlike any other in my lifetime. Looking at the numbers of just MAIL IN and EARLY IN PERSON VOTING, it's clear to me the USA is going to shatter turnout records... the likes of which we've probably never seen before... ever.

That is awesome, by the way. We're AMERICA. Democracy - and voting - is what we do.

That being said - you need to make a plan that includes the following things...

1) A mask. Make sure it's comfortable because you're gonna be wearing in into the precinct, while in line at the precinct, while voting... I'd get a breathable one, a comfortable one and I'd make sure you are prepared to wear it for hours.

2) Bring a comfortable chair if you are going in the morning. Or, be ready to move it along every few minutes, but if you get tired easily, or find that standing for hours is not comfortable, bring a chair

3) Consider bringing some snacks or a cooler with a couple of drinks or bottled water. You may find that you need 'em, but I've noticed around the iHeartRadio Nation that people are handing out drinks to people in line, bringing donuts, etc.

4) Extra chargers and batteries for a mobile device. You'll no doubt be killing time listening to a podcast, reading a book online, scrolling and tapping all things social media... and that can kill a battery, so bring chargers and whatnot... this way you can stay connected.

5) Patience. You will need it. But eventually you will get to vote, cast your ballot, and exercise the most important strength we have as Americans... the right to vote.

6) A flask of your favorite mood-enhancer. You'll probably need it and you'll probably be okay afterward, especially if your experience at the polls takes a while. Kidding. Don't drink and vote.

This has been a year like no other. This has been an election like any other. This will be an election day which will resonate through history. Make your plan... execute that plan... and maybe take off Wednesday because, well, you may need the day off - mentally - when this whole thing is said and done!

Thanks for reading... you make my life - and job - worth it.
