Say you've been dating someone for a while and you think you're ready to define the relationship and get exclusive - here's how you can be sure.
You're not interested in dating anyone else: This is usually one of the first signs you're ready to be exclusive. Maybe you were dating multiple people or looked forward to meeting a new date and now you're focused on one special someone.
You feel like you don't need to look anymore: People often say, 'when you know, you know'. You certainly feel like you understand what they mean. Sometimes when you're ready to be exclusive it doesn't even feel like you have a choice. Your heart knows something deeper than your brain and even if this person doesn't match up to your list 100%, you know they're the one for you.
They feel the same way about you: This is an important point because we've all been there - ugh, unrequited love. It's the worst. Before you give your heart to someone, make sure they want it and can reciprocate. If you're doing all the chasing and having to convince them, this isn't the match for you.
The timing is right: While there is no definitive timeline for these kinds of things, it's safe to say that you should spend some time getting to know each other. It won't likely happen on the first day you meet. Give your new relationship some room to breathe and sometimes these things fall in to place naturally.
