Nicole Kidman is seeking to be the primary residential parent of the two teen daughters she shares with Keith Urban amid the couple’s divorce.
Kidman, 58, cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce from country star Urban, 57, on Tuesday (September 30). Court documents reportedly show that Kidman is requesting to spend 306 days of the year with Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, while Urban would get 59 days with the couple’s daughters.
TMZ was first to report the couple’s separation on Monday (September 29) and the divorce filing on Tuesday. Unnamed sources told TMZ, PEOPLE and other news outlets that Kidman and Urban have been living separately since the beginning of the summer, and Kidman has “been fighting to save the marriage.”
Kidman and Urban have been absent from one another’s social media posts for months. Urban’s last post to include his wife was in May, and Kidman’s last post was in June, when she posted an anniversary tribute. The estranged couple met at a gala in 2005 in Los Angeles, California, and got married on June 25, 2006 in Sydney, Australia. Neither Kidman nor Urban have publicly commented on the divorce as of publication time.
