Glee creators have responded to claims that they didn't follow through with their promise to set up a college fund for Naya Rivera's son after her untimely drowning in July 2020.
As per Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuck and Ian Brennan, the trio still have plans to "create a college fund" for her five-year-old son, Josey. "Myself, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to create a college fund for Naya Rivera’s child Josey through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust," Murphy wrote on Twitter on Tuesday (March 9) "We have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate."
Word of their failed promise spread when the late star's father, George, made the claims, accusing his late daughter's former colleagues of "fake outrage." "Everyone needs to know what Ryan Murphy really did ... or didn’t do !!! I’m about to blow up this story .... and make sure he’s knows that I know ....," he responded to a message praising the creators for their commitment to Josey. "When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are ‘less than'…. vocalize a good game, but it’s as shallow as the sets on stage, that they create. Promises made in public, only to fade with time and excuses…. even in a unexplainable tragedy…"
As we reported, Rivera’s tragic drowning in Lake Piru prompted her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey to live with his son full-time. Rivera’s sister, Nickayla, also decided to help out and move in with the pair.
