Ragbrai is almost to Ames

You are well aware that it’s Ragbrai week in Iowa, a week where co-workers bail like crazy on their job responsibilities to ride across the great state of Iowa. First off, outside of the joke of seeing corn, corn and more corn I’m sure that Iowa looks a bit different at the slower pace on a bike. You take in more…and it makes the state look a bit different. I know to me, that’s how driving down main here in Ames vs driving works. It looks so much different to be up close and personal with it. Of course, all of those riders get a look at Ames tomorrow so plan on slow commutes and lots of extra people around town. A sad note, one of the founders of the ride…former register columnist Donald Kaul passed away yesterday at the age of 83.  You can read more about him HERE!
