A slide in the stock market today wasn’t good but it sounds like things may get tighter, General Motors wanted workers to take a buyout but it’s looking like layoffs may be coming to the auto industry. If there aren’t enough voluntary buyouts by mid January that looks like the time layoffs will happen. GM isn’t blaming economy, instead they say it has to do with the push to electric vehicles. I find this interesting because an updated article says that they will be killing the VOLT…along with the impala, Cadillac XTS and Buick LaCrosse. Ford is also looking into reducing it’s workforce.
