Join us October 12 at Main Street Station for the 8th annual Downtown Ames Oktoberfest! The event will feature live music, dancing, great German food, Guttentag games, and much more! Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Attendees ages 5-20 are $5 and must be accompanied by parent.
New this year:
· We are excited to partner with Main Street Station to host the event in their parking lot!
· Have you ever wanted to try throwing an axe? This is your chance! Ironside Axe Club (West Des Moines, IA) will be on site with their mobile axe trailer. Please plan ahead and wear closed toe shoes if you plan to throw an axe.
· Do you enjoy playing bags? We will host a bags tournament starting at 4pm, but you MUST preregister. Event is capped at 32 teams of two and will sell out! Entry fee of $30 per team includes entry into event.
Beer and wine will be sold by the glass all day. Free beer mugs to the first 1,000 people though the gate courtesy of Paul Livingston, Hunziker and Associates Realtor. Doors open at 4pm and mugs will go fast!
Schedule of events (subject to change):
4pm: Doors open, live music begins, bags tournament begins
4:30pm: tapping of the Golden Keg, provided by Iowa Brewing Company
7:00pm: Stein holding competition
8:00pm: Best dressed competition
10:00p: event ends
Live music: ISU Tubas, SLICE the Celestial Sorcerer, Matt Woods Band and Polka Rioty
Food vendors: Wheatsfield, Whiskey River and the Traveling Pig
